Everything old is new

Aaaaaaaaaaand we’re back to WordPress.

After running the site on Jekyll for the past 2-ish years, I’ve swicthed back to WordPress.

Long story short, I moved back because the publishing flow is so much faster. I’m old and I’m tired of putzing around with things to make them work — I just want them to work without a bunch of effort, and WordPress does just that 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, we’ll see how long this lasts. I’ll probably get bored and switch again at some point 😂

Since I’ve been playing Battlefield a little less while waiting on the new map to drop, I’ve started to get back into Fallout 76 again. It’d been 1½ to 2 years since last played, and A LOT has changed. I started a new character (my previous one was around level 235) and have been playing through it again. I forgot how much I love this game… I’ve really been enjoying it and am happy I got back into it.

Battlefield 2042 is dead

Battlefield 2042

Well, it finally happened. EA & DICE have announced that there will be no new seasons or content for Battlefield 2042 after season 7 is over.

From their blog post:

While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons.

We know this news may be disappointing. However, as we looked at what the future of the series required, it became clear it was time for us to shift our resources and focus to be fully dedicated to what comes next.

While I understand the reasons behind this, it’s still a massive bummer since the game is finally in a state where it’s actually playable and fun most of the time. Yes, there are some VERY annoying bugs that were introduced in season 7 that are supposedly in the process of being fixed for the 7.1 update, but the game is still mostly fun despite them.

Last Night in Battlefield 2042 – Ep. 1

This is the first video of a new series I hope to post regularly-ish. I usually record a few clips each night while playing, so I decided to put them all into a single video and post it. Since these’ll be uploaded the following day, they’ll be called “Last Night in Battlefield 2042” and tagged with lnibf2042.

  • Clearing off the roof of the C2 flag on Reclaimed
  • Counter-sniping a couple of snipers on Orbital using Lis’ missle 😂
